Exhausting.... draining... overwhelming... and now it is time to detox, and actually I'm not even talking about the food! I am talking about focusing on balance. I am finding balance between working, finances, coaching, motherhood, being a wife, a daughter, a friend, and on and on - and it can be challenging. I am in no means an expert but this year, starting now I am working on balancing - excuses are stopping at the door and like momma always said, "where there is a will, there is a WAY!"

I am looking for 10 motivated mommas who are looking to balance their lives, while making time for themselves to get healthy this year. 2016 for me, isn't about fitting into an outfit, or getting bikini ready ((that was 2015)) - this year, it is about becoming the healthiest version of myself! And I want you to join me...

Affording Shakeology on a Tight Mommy Budget

Erin Traill, diamond beachbody coach, Shakeology, budget, weight loss, support, finances, nutrition, fit mom, affording a healthy lifestyle

When I first started my journey at the end of March and my coach suggested Shakeology, I knew it was what I needed to help me reach my weight loss goals but I had no idea how I would ever afford it.... Like most mom's I keep my household on a tight budget and between diapers, formula, and all the snacks that a 4 year old loves - I found myself unsure how I was going to make this work, but I really wanted to add Shakeology, so I had to make it happen...

As many of you know, I started with a T25 challenge pack - which means it was the T25 program and a 30 day supply of Shakeology.... I signed up as a coach so I could get a discount if I decided to continue drinking the shakes (knocked about 30 dollars off the monthly cost!)

But with a new baby that needed formula, diapers, wipes, ect - how would I ever be able to add this to my budget too???

Well this is how...

  • I started couponing, watching ads and buying off brand... I am a name brand kinda girl, but I learned through trial and error what I could buy off brand. I watched ads for sales and I cut coupons.
  • I stopped buying bottle water and paper products for daily use - yes I still use it for company, picnics or on the go.
  • I stopped drinking fancy fruit smoothies  - lets face it they are just full of sugar anyways!
  • I stopped eating out as often - as a busy mom, I would be running around and go to a drive thru, or cafĂ© for a quick meal (I still fight this urge, as I am not a fan of cooking haha)
  • I stopped buying snack foods and juices - it was hard for my preschooler at first, she was used to having her juice and salty snacks - but very quickly she adjusted and replaced them with healthy snacks!
  • I was able to cut out my daily vitamins!
  • Packing a lunch - when we would go to the zoo, park, amusement park, ect I would always buy lunch for myself and my 4 year old - well not only is that very pricey, but it is very unhealthy so I started packing lunches which was a great way to save money and calories!
  • I switched to a cheaper hair salon - I found sometimes you really are just paying for the name, love my new hair girl!
  • Bought an in-home pedicure set instead of paying for pricey pedicures - pedicures are pricey and kinda gross if you really think about it.. love my in home set, it even lasts longer!

Do I think it is worth it?

Of course! I believe Shakeology was the change-agent I needed to succeed and stick to the programs. It increases my energy (not easy with a baby), decreases my cravings (not an easy task either - as a former cereal and ice cream addict), it is SUPER CONVENIENT (could not be more convenient and easy!), and it fuels my body with antioxidants and super foods!

I do not miss a day!
